Just a shame no one tried to plant a bomb at his funeral.

PDC you really are an ignorant cunt, how can you hero worship a child killer?

Have you got a picture of Ian Brady on your bedroom wall?

The peace process was a get out card, admittedly played superbly by McGuiness, how else was he going to get out of murdering all those innocent people without punishment?

For Lertie Button and other apologists for this piece of terrorist scum a fact when this cunt was in charge of his lovely cuddly wuddly band of terrorists or as I believe they prefer 'freedom fighters'

A quarter of a century earlier, the IRA sent army chef Patsy Gillespie to his death at Coshquin, holding his family hostage while he was forced to drive the car bomb which killed him and five soldiers.

But what about the peace process he helped bring about. Well if he hadn't been blowing up soldiers and taking families hostage he wouldn't have needed to have a fucking peace process to instigate in the first place

The conflict was inevitable once the 6 counties were carved off, a bad comprise that given the siege mentality it created on both sides of the border, was a breeding ground for future trouble.
Add to the mix that the Protestant / Unionist 6 counties was engineered and maintained to totally subjugate and disregard the 40%of the population who were Catholic /Nationalists. In addition the Free State became one of the most socially repressive countries in Europe.
It was never going to end well

Ronnie Moran & Martin McGuinness dead: one was figurehead of evil organisation responsible for killing innocent people; the other an Irish Republican

I'm glad he helped create peace, Lertie, but it was a conflict that people like he and Ian Paisley created in the first place. Lots of innocent people suffered because of their idiocy.

Coffee also said that nothing excuses it.

nothing.

he willingly agreed to the killing of children, i hope that haunted him every day. but i very much doubt it.

Fair point Jersey but if he had known that the person who did it was being treated as a hero on the BBC what would he have thought?

( not just the BBC by the way )

My Dad lost his Mum, Sister and Auntie when a German bomb hit the family home. Yet in later life he absolutely loved Germany and spent many happy holidays there!

It's a difficult one but Ireland is a much safer, prosperous place than it was in the 70's, 80's!

I agree Darby, Tebbitt has been the only honest one so far.

I would love May and Corbyn to have said he was an evil man who deserves nothing but loathing and hatred.

But it won't happen.

Re: Martin McGuinness quits politics due to 'Death''
He played a massive part in bringing peace and like it or like it not, without his credentials as an active IRA member he could not have delivered peace.
Obviously peace over here is totally unimportant to those who don't live here, which kind of sums up the attitude the British have always had to Ireland

"I'm sure the Ball, Parry and other innocent victims families will be happy knowing their loved ones didn't die in vain."

Er, shouldn't have had to die at all though should they.

Re: Martin McGuinness quits politics due to 'Death''
if he had a darker complextion and was fighting for 'his' people in Iraq then his death would be celebrated.

there is no excuse for purposely blowing up innocents. whatever the context.
